Biography
Janise Hurtig is an educational anthropologist and community educator. She received her Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan. She is part-time faculty in SCPS, coordinator of the Community Writing Project, and an adult educator at the Howard Area Community Center. Her research, writing, and educational practice examine the intersections of formal and informal education, gender and feminism, and community development and social change.
