Biography

Kamilah Cummings holds a master’s degree in journalism from Roosevelt University and has more than 20 years of professional experience as a writer and editor. Her teaching philosophy is shaped by her belief in writing as an inclusive communication medium for learning, documenting, reflecting, healing, expanding and empowering. In addition to writing, her research interests include Prince studies, House music histor​y and culture, and representations of race and identity in media and popular culture.
