Kurtis Todd

Biography

Kurtis teaches introductory and advanced spreadsheet-modeling, database design, and data mining courses for applied decision-making. These courses leverage Microsoft Excel as a business analytics tool, with extensions to several other statistical and processing tools, such as SPSS and R. Kurtis encourages his students to supercharge the power of data science and analytics to deliver optimal business/social impact.

With over twenty years in higher education his experience includes work with business, research, and academia. He has conducted research in the areas of biophysics/physiology, traceability, and control systems. His current research interest is fintech, with particular focus on decision systems, blockchains, cloud data storage, and global business information systems.

Kurtis is a lifelong learner holding an M.B.A. in Finance and Accountancy, an M.S. in Business Information Technology, an M.S. in Computer, Information, and Network Security, and a B.S. in Chemistry. Additionally he holds a Certificate in Data Science for Business from DePaul's Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM), and a Certificate in Values Centered Leadership from The Hay Project. Kurtis serves as an active member of IEEE and the FBI Chicago Infra​Gard Alliance.
