Coordinator, Communications
Leyfane is the Communications Coordinator for the School
of Continuing and Professional Studies. She coordinates all areas
of communications for the school, promoting public relations and student
engagement/affinity-building; liaising with the Office of Alumni Relations;
student programming (i.e. awards, commencement, dean's list, fall welcome and open house), and contribute to enrollment services
planning as it relates to marketing and communications. She is also
the logistics administrator for the school's Excellence Awards committee as
well as a voting member; a staff professional, content editor of
various media outlets; a
member of SCPS Alumni Newsletter Editorial Board, Social Media Working
Group, Chapter
Councilor for SCPS's honor society of Alpha Sigma Lambda and Treasurer and Communications Director for the DePaul Chapter 272, Phi Kappa Phi, International Honor Society.
Leyfane co-authored and published with faculty and peers. She has presented on Black Genealogy, African centered-education, Brown v. Board of Education, Resiliency in the Urban African American Youth, Understanding Generational Differences and The Book of Revelations. She successfully completed an advanced study of and
application in the field of diversity and inclusion, earn certifications in
content marketing, graphic designs, liberal learning and educating
adults and received a Phi Kappa Phi Badge for the love of learning. Leyfane has 21 years experience in higher education with previous work in healthcare administration. Leyfane understands the needs and challenges of an adult learner as she experienced it first-hand. Working full-time and being an adult student, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in
Business Media Communications and a Master of Arts in Educating Adults,
Community Engaged-Learning, both from DePaul University, SCPS.
