Managing people who are direct reports requires a certain set of skills. However, many situations require influencing people over whom there is no direct authority. It requires a completely different set of skills and tactics. This workshop provides the insights and approaches to motivate individuals and groups to produce successful business outcomes. The key areas covered include analyzing the environment, understanding interpersonal factors, and tailoring actions that best respond to the particular situation.  Simulation exercises to practice and reinforce the key elements of the instruction may be included.

This course highlights the fundamentals of great leadership even under difficult circumstances. Insights and practical techniques are provided based on real-world, evidence-based case studies. The program provides participants with hands-on applications to improve one’s leadership capabilities and maximize motivation, innovation and creativity throughout the performance management cycle. It also examines navigating critical people-related problems in order to create and implement positive change practices within an organization.

This course focuses on assessing managerial behaviors and understanding their impact in managerial job performance. The training features managerial skills simulation exercises to allow participants to demonstrate interpersonal skills that are linked to job success. Five key interpersonal skills are assessed: Decision-Making, Teamwork, Communication, Initiative/Leadership, Planning and Organizing.  Participants will also learn to describe critical success factors in successful leadership, explain the process for developing one’s leadership capabilities and identify common traps that interfere with personal effectiveness.

This program includes four modules: Supervisory Skills, Collaboration, Building Effective Teams, and Performance Management. Participants will gain basic leadership theories, experience, practice and feedback throughout the modules provided in various formats.  The focus is upon laying the groundwork to build effective supervisors with instructions and exercises providing real life scenarios where participants are encouraged to engage in situations they face in the roles of leaders in a changing and challenging workplace.  Training is interactive, balancing lectures with individual and group exercises.

In-depth knowledge and skills are provided for participants to assess conflict in various situations to determine how to address them, diffuse emotion, and manage a situation to find productive, relationship-building outcomes. Participants focus on situations they regularly face. They learn to identify each of the five Conflict Handling Modes: competing, accommodating, avoiding, compromising, and collaborating to develop the skills needed to implement them in particular situations, and understand the ramifications of overusing/underusing each one.

The objective is to train participants who manage projects in a common project management discipline.  This involves teaching a common vocabulary and helping participants learn and put into practice a structured, methodical approach to managing their projects. It also involves providing participants with an assortment of tools that can be applied at each stage of the project management process. Using a combination of lectures, case studies, homework and exercises, the goal is to provide participants with enough familiarity with these approaches and tools that they put this instruction into practice immediately after the training.

This program is designed to discuss the differences between workplace cultures that drive excellence and engagement with those that fuel dysfunction, conflict, and incivility. Participants will examine the evidence regarding the importance of respect and transparency in leadership and the extent to which professionals can promote positive interactions between employees, even in the face of competitive pressure and lean resources. In addition, participants will examine practical strategies that can help strengthen a positive work culture in their own business units.

This course provides an overview of best practices for planning and delivering effective communication. This includes verbal communication for presentations and meetings and written communication for formal documents and email. Participants will assess their skills in each area and learn about effective approaches to enhance their skills as well as be given multiple exercises that allow them to put the instruction into practice. Along with teaching technical skills, this course also focuses on building confidence and reducing anxiety.

Participants engage in a powerful experiential learning experience around the concepts of strategic management.  An active-learning model consisting of a combination of lecture and small-group exercises will be utilized to increase retention of the training.  Business simulations can be used to reinforce and teach strategy concepts, teamwork, cross functional alignment, business finance concepts, competitive analysis and the selection of tactics to build a successful, focused organization.

Team development and maintenance is critical in many areas of corporate society.  This program will cover factors required to build successful team cultures and explain effective transition, action and interpersonal team processes.  Participants will recognize how to create responsive team structures and define principles of effective team decision-making. Review of team dynamics, the impact of organizational structures on team effectiveness, motivational theories and techniques, the interaction of individual behavioral styles and the value of diversity will also be included.

 

Organizational change is a constant consideration in today’s society.  This training course will cover evidence-based methods for influencing others toward positive change while articulating the effects of using rationality vs. emotionality in stimulating change.  The differences and basis for transactional and transformational leadership will be covered.  Participants ultimately will demonstrate methods for overcoming resistance to change, identify opportunities to engage in transformational leader behaviors, and articulate a vision for a project, team, or unit.

The measurement-based Six Sigma methodology focuses on process improvement and variation reduction by applying a set of statistical, analytical and problem solving tools and techniques. The training focuses on creating a high-performance organization through a mindset and culture shift that eliminates marginal methods and replaces them with a set of simple, yet sophisticated, statistical, analytical and problem solving techniques that continually produce exceptional results.

Lean Six Sigma focuses on the waste that comes from unnecessary steps in the production process that do not add value to the finished product. It emphasizes reducing the amount of time between activities, events, and cycles. Lean also identifies areas where process waste and bottlenecks can be eliminated. Participants will learn the discipline of analyzing and eliminating the waste that results from variation within the process. Each participant will be asked to apply the learning to their current work responsibilities during the instruction.

This course covers the six functional areas, responsibilities and associated knowledge defined by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI): Strategic Business Management, Workforce Planning and Employment, Human Resource Development, Total Rewards, Employee and Labor Relations, Risk Management.  This program is similar to the courses offered to individual students, but provided in a group or onsite corporate format.

This intensive training covers all of the Project Management Knowledge Areas and prepares those with some experience in project management to take the PMP Exam.  This program is similar to the courses offered to individual students, but provided in a group or onsite corporate format.

This training consists of the six modules that will fulfill the education requirement of CFP Board and would allow participants to take the CFP® certification exam. The topics for the modules is as follows:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Financial Planning and Insurance Planning

Module 2: Investment Planning

Module 3: Income Tax Planning

Module 4: Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits

Module 5: Estate Planning

Module 6: Financial Plan Development
