Undergrad Students Frequently Asked Questions

Register for classes through your Student Center in Campus Connect. The SCPS Registration webpage has a video tutorial on how to register, as well as quarterly registration information.

You must provide transcripts from prior colleges as part of your application to SCPS. Initially, the DePaul registrar evaluates your prior courses and applies them to SCPS degree requirements. Any classes not assigned are reviewed by your advisor after completing LL250 Foundations of Adult Learning. Speak with your advisor for more information on how you can apply any transfer coursework to your degree.

Your Campus Connect username and password are mailed in your admission letter. If you have forgotten or lost your Campus Connect user name and password, call 312-362-8765 for assistance. SCPS Advisors and staff cannot help you recover this information.

Books for SCPS courses are available at the Loop Campus bookstore at 1 East Jackson Blvd and online at http://depaul-loop.bncollege.com. See course syllabi for required books.

If you register for classes during the first week of the quarter, you are responsible for ordering your textbooks within 24 hours of registration.

You can graduate from DePaul in any quarter. A Commencement ceremony celebrating all graduates from the previous school year is held once a year in June. You must apply for graduation, using the Student Center in Campus Connect, to have your degree conferred in the quarter when you finish your coursework at DePaul. Every quarter has a separate graduation application deadline. You will be notified by email if you are eligible to apply. See more graduation information.

Tuition is the same for online and on-campus courses.

SCPS provides Proficiency Exams for certain equirements in the competence degree programs. There is a non-refundable $150 administrative fee for each exam.

You can also take CLEP exams for certain degree requirements.

You must submit an Independent Learning Pursuit (ILP) to earn credit for experiential learning. You learn how to write an ILP through several introductory courses that are offered every quarter. There is a non-refundable $150 administrative fee for every ILP submission.

Every online course has a website you access through a learning management system called Desire to Learn (D2L). The website contains links to all course materials, assignments, discussion topics, a calendar of due dates, and instructor contact information.

The week before a quarter begins is called Preview Week for SCPS online courses. During this time, you are able to login to the course website and get an overview. Your instructor will contact you by email during this time. Please email your instructor if you register for an online courses during the first week of the quarter to let her or him know that you joined the course. Your instructor email address is located under Classlist on the toolbar in your class website.

SCPS students are assigned an Academic Advisor when admitted to DePaul. Find your advisor name and contact information under Student Center in Campus Connect. See also information about your Academic Advisor.

DePaul offers an Employer Deferral Tuition Plan as a payment option for students who receive tuition reimbursement from employers. See information about the plan and how to apply.

Yes! The DePaul degree you earned through SCPS is fully accredited and qualifies you to continue your studies in graduate programs across the country. If you choose to continue your graduate students at DePaul, you automatically qualify for the Double Demon Discount (among other alumni benefits) that reduces graduate tuition by 25%.
